Top Ten Tuesday is brought to you by The Broke and the Bookish, and this week’s Top Ten topic is one that I had to get really serious about. I read so many good books in 2016, and it was hard whittling down my list to ten favorites, but I did it! Without further ado, here are my Top 10 Books from 2016.

Addicted by Elle Kennedy
Addicted took me and hurled me into a world I thought I was already hip-deep in. It took everything I loved about Claimed and put it on crack. (Do you think that’s why it’s called Addicted?) I loved the heroine of this book. She showed an amazing amount of strength and wasn’t afraid to go after what she wanted.

My Brown-Eyed Earl by Anna Bennett
This book was rife with…shocker. Romance. As I feel like a lot of romance books lack that component lately, I was thrilled to stumble upon this little gem! This was a sweet story that captured me from the very beginning, and I’m eager to read the rest of this series and more from the author!

Connection Error by Annabeth Albert
There seems to be a formula to Annabeth Albert’s writing – one partner who is so eccentric it wouldn’t be possible to miss them if you passed them on the street, and one who is either closeted, or at the very least, uncomfortable in their own skin. I happen to love this formula and think no one does it better. Her love stories evolve orgainically, and I love how one parnter never pushes the other for more than they’re ready to give. She’s been one of my go-to authors since I’ve discovered her. Conneciton Error was a sweet story about two men who found exactly what they weren’t looking for, and took a chance anyway. I adored Josiah and Ryan.

A Season of Ruin by Anna Bradley
I have to laugh at myself, because I remember when this book popped up on Netgalley – it was a Friday afternoon, and of course I requested immediately. But I needed this book right that very second, and I couldn’t stand the thought of the entire weekend going by without knowing if I was going to get to read it right then or not! (I may be dramatic, but ’tis life when you’re a blogger.) I am so on the Anna Bradley bandwagon that I think, at this point, I’m driving the damn thing. Her heroes are armong my absolute favorites, and they’re so well-matched. I love everything about her books!

The Sight by Chloe Neill
This book…that ending. I so did not see that coming. I love this series, and to say I am anxiously awaiting the next is an understatement. I love this world Chloe Neill has created, and I want more!

What Remains by Garrett Leigh
I feel like a broken record when I talk about Garrett Leigh, but if the broken record keeps repeating your favorite lyric, is it really all that bad? Angst-galore if what’s in store for you if you pick up a Garrett Leigh book, but every single second is worth it to get to the end. This book was especially heart-wrenching, and is my favorite so far of hers.

The Viscount Risks it All by Erin Knightley
Wow. I read some amazing historical romance this year! The Viscount Who Risked it All was such a special read. Like one of my previous Top 10 books, it was so full of romance and sweetness, all the while flirting with angst. It was such a hopeful read. I just could not put this one down.

Reaper’s Fire by Joanna Wylde
It’s possible that this is my favorite book in the Reapers MC series, but I’ll have to check with Horse to be sure that’s allowed. Man, this book consumed me. Once I had it, I couldn’t sleep. I tried to, and I even fell into it, but I didn’t stay there. Finally I gave up, hopped out of bed, and opened it back up. I knew I wasn’t going to get sleep until I finished it. And holy hell. I loved Tinker and the people she surrounded herself with. It was the highlight of this book for me. But, oh, man. When Gage and Tinker were on the page together, sparks flew. This was a solid installment to the series, and I am praying this book is not the last we see of the Reapers MC. I need more of these bad boys.

Trailer Trash by Marie Sexton
This book was such a surprise to me. It. Blew. Me. Away. Never have I read a book that played with my emotions the way this one did. If ever a book was going to gut me, this one would be it. Talk about angst and desperation. It was so accurate for the time period it was written in, and I just couldn’t put this one down. This is a must read if you’re an M/M fan.

Fly with Me by Chanel Cleeton
Ohmigod ohmigod ohmigod! This book makes me feel like such a fangirl I could be in 8th grade at a New Kids on the Block concert all over again. The Wild Aces series has reinvigorated my reading life. This is the funnest, most flirty, sexiest Contemporary Romance I have read in years. I started with the second, and it was so good I knew I was going to read the rest of the series. I didn’t expect the first book to be quite as good because the second was perfection. But surprise! I loved it even more. The rest of the books on my list were in no particular order, but when it comes to 2016, this was my favorite read of the year.

Which is shame, because according to Article 1, Section 4…you know I’m going to beat that to death, right? Just like the ‘Oh, good! I have it six months before release date but don’t have time to read it until the day before!’ 😉

I love it! Aside from her collaboration with Sarina Bowen, it’s the only thing I’ve read from her. I need to remedy that, though.

I haven’t read any of these, but many that you listed are authors that I just LOVE!! Joanna Wylde is splendid, I love her gritty romances. I plan on reading Reaper’s Fire this year. I have Heard The Viscount Takes All is pretty great, so I am looking forward to that one.

Oh, yes, The Viscount Risks it All was such a beautiful, slow burning story. I’ll be interested to hear your thoughts.
And Reaper’s Fire…Ung! I also like to refer to that as ‘the book that wouldn’t let me sleep.’ LOL I hope you enjoy them if you get a chance to read them! 🙂
