Count Me In | The Series That Never…Ends Challenge

There are so many series out there that I haven’t had a chance to read yet, and after reading and loving the Kate Daniels series last year, I can’t help but wonder what else I am missing out on. One that I hear glowing reviews about over and over again is Karen Marie Moning’s Fever series, and 2017 is the year I am finally diving in! I was hoping to get to it last year, but it just didn’t happen. And unless I make the time in between all the new releases I’m so excited about, I feel like I’ll never get to it!

So, here is my plan. I asked a fellow blogger who loves the series about the reading order, and she suggested I read books 1 – 4, fight my desire to read book five, and read books 4 – 7 from The Highlander series. Only then can I return to the Fever series to finish it. Since she has never steered me wrong before, and some of my favorite authors came at her recommendation (Cara McKenna and Ellen O’Connell,) I’m going to go with it and read in this order. So my goal is to read the 9 Fever books plus the 4 Highlander books recommended, for a total of 13 books. I will probably read the first book in print, and then, as I become familiar with the world, I will go back and forth between print and audio. So I will be ‘removing the thorn from my side’ to quote the challenge rules.

This challenge is hosted by Delighted Reader, and I’m thrilled to be participating this year!

Here are the guidelines if you’re interested:

The Challenge (if you choose to accept it)

Level One – 5-9 books – Surviving the Book Tsunami
Level Two – 10-15 books – Removing the Thorn From My Side
Level Three – 15 books or more – Goddess of Reading the Never Ending Series

Those pesky rules….

* The minimum goal is 5 books.
* The books have to be in the same series and by the same author(s).
* Only romance series are accepted. Any sub-genre of romance accepted.
* Sign up between December 1, 2016- December 31, 2017.

If you’re interested in signing up, please visit Delighted Reader and be sure to add your name to the list!

  1. Interesting… I read the first Highlander book and didn’t really like it. I also never felt like I was missing anything when reading Fever. However! I always prefer reading sister series together, because that’s how you get the full effect. 🙂

    1. Did you read book 1 of the Highlander series, or book 4? Because as far as I know (which, admittedly, isn’t much) it’s not until book 4 that things mingle with the Fever series.

      1. I thought it was book 1, but I rated book 3… both of them have similar synopsis’s but I can’t imagine why I would read book 3…. either way, I didn’t like whichever book it was.

  2. Hey, glad to have you join our challenge, Angie. You have definitely embraced the spirit of this challenge. I’ve read your Fever series, but I still need to get to those Highlander ones. I think your friend gave good advice because I realized after the fact that there were several crossover characters.

    1. I keep feel like I’m missing out, especially around release time of a new Fever book. But Highlanders…yeah. I’m actually reading The Highlander by Kerrigan Byrne right now, and holy smokes. It’s my audio read (which I try to do only at work or when I am cleaning,) but I am having a hard time not switching to print so I can blow through it.
