“Waiting on” Wednesday | The Duke by Kerrigan Byrne

Breaking the Spine created this feature – “Waiting on” Wednesday, where bloggers could gush about their most coveted upcoming release. Here’s mine:

He is noble, notorious, and takes no prisoners…

They say that now His Grace, Collin Talmage, Duke of Trenwyth has only one hand, he might finally be a mere mortal, but no one seems willing to test the theory. Rich as Midas, big as a Viking, beautiful as Adonis, and lethal as a feral wolf, he is the English Empire’s golden son. But now he’s lost everything. Most of his family died in a terrible accident, his protégé and closest friend betrayed him on the battlefield, and his left hand was cut off while he was a prisoner of war. The only thing that’s kept him going until now is the memory of a night spent in the arms of a mysterious raven-haired woman almost a year ago…

Imogen Pritchard is a nurse by day, but a fallen woman—and a spy—by night. Seduced on the job years ago by a Duke who mourned for the loss of his family, Imogen has never shaken the memory of the man’s despair—or the fathomless depths of pleasure he brought to her. But as the threat of betrayals, blackmail, and secrets abound, Imogen and Collin are thrown back together in a dizzying swirl of dangerous games and earthshattering desire. But can their love overcome the everything that threatens to tear them apart?

Publication date: February 7th

You guys, these covers…I can’t even. Do covers even have a right to be this stunning? They make me want to pet them and blow them up and put them on display somewhere.

OK, so…yeah. I had issues with the first two books in this series. But despite those issues, there are damn good stories there. It took me a while to (wo)man up and read The Highlander – what the heck was wrong with me?!!?! But now that I have, I am all in and waiting impatiently for The Duke. The heroes in this series slay me, and I am anxiously awaiting my introduction to His Grace, Collin Talmage, Duke of Trenwyth.

  1. I LOVE this series. The first book was my favorite though. This author reminds me alot of many books that made me fall in love with this genre so I have such a soft spot for her writing style because its so different from what all the other HR author write now a days. I like that she stays true to the time period and culture yet you can still relate with it. And I like that they aren’t fluffy and super modern characters (that kinda drives me crazy hehe ) And I totally agree the covers are just gorgeous. I love this one here with the white and blue.

    1. I agree – she feels very much like the ‘old-fashioned’ historical romances I would read when I very first started reading them. Oh, yeah – there is no fluff in these books. It’s all meat and grit. The Highlander was my favorite. Something about Liam and Mena just grabbed hold of my heart and didn’t let it go. 🙂
