Top Ten Tuesday is brought to you by The Broke and the Bookish, and this it’s all about books you just couldn’t put down. I rarely have time to read books in one sitting anymore (WAH,) but there are times when a book will keep me up long into the night just so I can get to that last page.
“Complete”
10
On Dublin Street by Samantha Young
This book gripped me from the very first page. I think introducing Joss through her tragedy was pure genius on the author’s part, and it put the reader in her shoes and gave them a better understanding of why she held everyone at arms length. When I finished this book, I immediately went back to the beginning and started reading it again.
9
A Wicked Way to Win an Earl by Anna Bradley
Thank GOD I didn’t start this book on a weeknight, otherwise I would have been good for nothing the next day at work. I adore the premise for this entire series, loved the second book, and am longing for even more of this family!
8
Reaper’s Fire by Joanna Wylde
This was a surprise ARC I’d gotten in the mail, and really, I had no business reading it when I did, but who the heck can hold back on a Joanna Wylde book? I was up until three in the morning reading this book before my eyes crossed and I fell into bed. At five a.m., I was wide awake again, and I knew I wasn’t going to be able to fall asleep until I finished this one. I gave in. And it was worth the sleep deprivation!
7
Captive Prince by C.S. Pacat
I think I stayed up all night with every installment of this series. There are so many twists and turns (SO MANY!) and just jaw dropping moments that every one was impossible to put down.
6
Yours Until Dawn by Teresa Medeiros
This book tugged at my heartstrings and had me in tears throughout most of it. I was so captured by this story, and there was no prying it from my greedy reader hands until I was done!
5
Cry No More by Linda Howard
This book had me on the edge of my seat until the very end; there was just no way I was letting this one go until this mystery was solved!
4
Angel Falls by Kristin Hannah
This book made the rounds where I was working at the time, and we all marveled at how much this book made us sob. I’m pretty sure we all read it in one sitting. I would love to reread this one day.
3
An Affair Most Wicked by Julianne MacLean
OK, so I read this book when it first came out, and there was a scene that was so sexy in this one it ensured I stuck with it to the end. I wanted to read all about the sexy times!
2
He Loves Lucy by Susan Donovan
Oh my word. This book kept me in stitches the whole way through. It was so much fun I almost called out of work for this one. Luckily I finished with just enough time to primp and make it in!
1
Night Whispers by Judith McNaught
You guys…this is second to Paradise by this author as my favorite and let me tell you. There is a scene in this book that nearly kills me every time I read it (trademark Judith McNaught,) and as many times as I’ve read this, it is always always always in one sitting.
So that concludes my list of unputdownable books. Are there any books that kept you up all night long, or woke you up early early in the morning because you were just desperate to read more?
I haven’t read ANY of these books! But Yours Until Dawn is on my TBR. And I have read a lot of Linda Howard’s books. I adore her Mackenzie books. Have you read those?
Oh, Yours Until Dawn was so fantastic. I was hoping to find it on audio so I could reread, but I’ll have to fit in the print form.
I haven’t read the Mackenzies, but I will check them out. Thanks for the recommendation. Cry No More is actually the only one I’ve read from her, and I really don’t know why. It was spectacular.
I was the same way with the Pacat trilogy and with every Joanna Wylde book I’ve read. Guess I should prepare for a late one since she just released another. 🙂
oh you have a great list. Yours Until Dawn was also on my list. When I first read I stayed up until 4am reading it. An Affair Most Wicked and On Dublin Street are both fantastic books too!! I love Wylde but still need to read that one. I am just debating whether to do it on ebook or audio.
As much as I love Wylde books in audio, my first read always has to be print so I can blow through it! LOL I’m so greedy.
Yeah, there was a scene in An Affair Most Wicked that was so steamy. I really need to reread it to see if it’s as steamy as I remember! I think it’s going to be.
All of these titles are new to me, but every Kristin Hannah novel I’ve read has kept me glued to my seat until I finished it so I’m totally with you there.
Ohhh I want the Earl one!

I have only read one book on this list. I think maybe this is where I should start, reading recs from friends. Good thing Cry No More is on my list. 🙂
