Top 5 Wednesday | Favorite Books From Before I Started Blogging

This weeks topic is your five favorite books from before you began blogging. I’ve been a reader for as long as I can remember, so this list is going to be hard to put together. My first book, however, is something that will probably never change, so away we go!

1. Paradise by Judith McNaught

This book slayed me. I remember finishing it at four o’clock in the morning, sitting in the center of my bed sobbing for all I was worth. For weeks I kept this book by my bedside and opened it before I went to sleep, re-reading my favorite parts again and again. The more time passes, the more I love this book.

2. Flirting with Danger by Suzanne Enoch

I know this has shown up before in my lists, and I’m probably repeating myself, but so be it. This book is the perfect summer read. Sam and Rick were so much fun together; is there anything better than a billionaire falling for the woman who’s trying to rob him? At the time I read this, I certainly didn’t think so. Rick and Sam were hot and hilarious, and I still find the combination impossible to resist.

3. Almost Heaven by Judith McNaught

I should probably try to shake it up for variety’s sake, but I’m not going to. This is the second Judith McNaught book on my list, but I couldn’t possibly limit it to just one. Much like Paradise, this book touched on every single emotion I have. Elizabeth and Ian were both so special, and their love story was nothing short of amazing. I really wish these books would released on audio so I could listen them over and over and over and over again. Judith McNaught’s storytelling is incomparable, and no matter how much I’ve loved recent historicals, this one can never be moved from my top spot.

4. Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie

I have never craved food more than when I was reading this book. I learned to make Chicken Marsala because of Bet Me. I mean, I didn’t like it, but still. That’s pretty powerful! I still have a hankering for a Krispy Kreme donut – I always check when I leave state, but there’s never been one close enough to me to visit. But aside from all that, Min and Cal kept me in absolute stitches throughout this entire book. I really need to reread this one soon.

5. Cry No More by Linda Howard

I know I read alpha heroes before this book, but when it comes to firsts, Diaz is the first man who comes to mind when I think ‘alpha.’ I probably shed more tears reading this book than every other book I’ve ever read combined. If you want a book that will make you cry (and break you in the process,) this is the one.
