This weeks topic is:

What are your Favorite Comedy Books?

In perusing my Goodreads shelf, it became quite clear to me that I don’t read enough books that could be categorized as Romantic Comedy. In fact, I really could only come up with three. Here they are:

Bet Me – When someone mentions a romantic comedy, Bet Me is absolutely the first book that springs to mind. This book kept me in stitches he entire way through! Min and Cal’s relationship was hilarious, and their constant dining left me craving chicken Marsala and Krispy Kreme donuts. If you like books that will make you howl with laughter, Bet Me is not to be missed!

The Heist – The Fox and O’Hare series is a cat and mouse tale about an FBI agent and the con artist she’s constantly tailing. Far from a serious read, these books are relaxing (aside from the fact that you’ll get an ab workout from all the laughs,) and, again with the food – you will never be able to think of Toberlone again without Nick jumping into your thoughts.

The Undomestic Goddess – I remember picking this book at the recommendation of a coworker years ago, and I was unprepared for how much this book was going to make me laugh. This book was about an attorney who made a career ending mistake, and instead of facing the issue head on, she decides to split and try her hand at housekeeping. The antics in this book were gut-splitting, and I really should re-read this one since I don’t remember enough about it.

Revisiting these titles are really making me want to read more Romantic Comedy books. I loved each of these feel good stories, and would love to read more. Let me know if you have any suggestions!

  1. Oh fun! I love romcom and don’t read enough of it. Its funny you mentioned a Janet Evanovich story b/c I just listened to my first one of hers in the Knight & Moon series and laughed hard and often. I still need to check out Kinsella and Bet Me looks fun, too.

  2. It has been a long time since I read Jennifer Crusie but I do remember loving her sense of humor. Evanovich was also a favorite a few years ago but I haven’t been impressed by some of her more recent books.

  3. You know romance and comedy just work so well together…they really do!! I love Jennifer Crusie, her books always make me laugh. I think I would also put the avon true romance series up there as well as Jeaniene Frost. I do love those books that can make me hoot out in laughter.
