The Series That Never…Ends Challenge | Update

If you read my post earlier this year where I originally decided to join this challenge, then you may remember I signed on to read 13 books – the Fever series and the Highlander series that intertwined with it. Welp, I have a confession to make. I read one and a half books of the Fever series and decided to call it quits. FOR NOW. The series just wasn’t grabbing me, and as I know it’s one a lot of people enjoy, I am going to set it aside for now and try to read it again at a later date. There’s nothing worse than forcing yourself to read a book (and especially a series of books!) if they’re just not holding your attention. But here’s the thing – I want to love Jericho Barrons as much as the next reader. And I’m afraid if I make myself continue to read this series, I just won’t. So I’m calling it. TOD for this series – 7:13 p.m. on October 29th, 2017. For now. Like I said, I plan on resurrecting this series.

Now, I don’t want to bow out of this challenge completely, so I have another series I’m adding in place of the Fever series. I’m going to go light and just commit to finishing the first five books. Which puts me on the Surviving the Book Tsunami end of this challenge. The series I have chosen to read is the White Trash Zombie series:

I’m going to leave the information below for the challenge details in case you decide that you want to join in the fun and cram in a series of books in the last few months of the year!

This challenge is hosted by Delighted Reader, and I’m thrilled to be participating this year!

  1. I wish I could have seen this challenge earlier this year but I wasn’t blogging then LOL. I could have joined with Nalini Singh series 🙂 I’m trying to get through Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Dark Hunter series these days but so far only 3 books.

Covers of the books looks good btw! Good luck with this challenge! Enjoy reading 🙂

  2. Go for it. It’s an interesting challenge and feedback on the series…book by book?

You have picked a good series with Rowland’s White Zombie Trash. I blazed through the first three or four and had to wait for the last.

  3. I didn’t know about this challenge but if they host it again next year, I’ll consider participating. It sounds like fun! I’m happy you’re setting Barrons aside for now. The Fever series is a favorite of mine (I read the Highlander one as well) but MacKayla did take awhile to warm up to. Barrons though! Yum! So I hope he’ll improve upon later examination. 😉 White Trash Zombie is a series I’d like to dive into so I’m looking forward to your reviews. 🙂 Good luck!

  4. I’m so glad you’re able to switch over to a new series. I agree with your decision and how it can actually turn out to be a good way to come back for books later instead of getting frustrated. Hopefully the Rowland series will grab you. 🙂

And yay, thanks for the challenge shout out, Angie! 🙂

  5. Ugh, nothing worse than trying to force yourself to read a book or series. That always sends me directly into a reading slump. (To be avoided at all costs!) I’ve heard good things about the Fever series but if you’re not feeling it, better to move along. Hope the other series works out better for you!

  6. I’m not much of a series reader but I’m eyeing the Highlander and the White Trash Zombie series. Actually, I’m slowly getting my own copies now, hehe. Goodluck with this challenge 🙂 Ganbatte kudasai!

  7. It’s so hard for me to stick with a series, especially a long winded one. I have read the Fever series but stopped once Iced, or whatever book it was, stopped following Mac. The White Trash Zombie series is one I’ve been wanting to start. I just love the gritty covers. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on them.
