This weeks topic is:

What are some light, fluffy, feel good books you have read lately?

This topic could not have come at a better time! I feel like I’ve been in a reading slump for a while; I just haven’t realized it. I’ll have one or two great reads, and then it’s a string of mediocre reads or, lately, DNFs. But I recently read three amazing books back to back, and at least two of them fit this criteria. But that’s OK – I won’t have to dig that deep to come up with more. Keep in mind that while these books are on this list, they are not complete fluff. These are books that have some fluff and lightness, but there may be serious undertones in some of them. But I walked away feeling hella good once I was finished!

The Coaching Hours by Sara Ney – I read this book recently (reviewing coming tomorrow!) and you guys! This book was so very sweet. I love that Elliot strong-arms when he needs to (not his girl, though,) but is gentle as can be with Annabelle. This story was adorable and fun and not to be missed!

Brooklynaire by Sarina Bowen – Fans around the world sighed in relief when Sarina Bowen announced that we were getting Nate and Becca’s story. (This is no joke; people were rabid for this story – present company included.) Nate and Becca’s story was perfection, a friendship blooming into love and hitting a few hiccups before they found their way together. But in true Sarina Bowen fashion, this book left me feeling giddy.

About a Dog by Jenn McKinlay – This book about a group of quirky friends spending time together and finding love along the way is full of laughs and hi-jinks. If you can finish this book without laughing, I’ll be surprised!

I See London, I See France by Sarah Mlynowski – This is a story about two friends who drop everything to go on a European adventure after their first year of college was so entertaining. There was a beach scene in particular that left me in stitches, but that wasn’t the only fun scene. There was a lot of hilarity in this book!

The Heist by Janet Evanovich and Lee Goldberg – The entire Fox and O’Hare series embodies all things light and fluffy. Every book will having you laughing from beginning to end, all while cheering Nick on.

Good Boy by Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy – This book…you guys. If this book doesn’t literally having you ‘ROTFL,’ then I don’t know what to say. There is now a thing called ‘Blake-isms’ because of this book, and they are so hysterical. If you ever just want a good laugh, go in search of some of them.

These are all books that had me swiping to the very last page with a huge, cheesy grin on my face, and I am so glad I read them. They were all entertainment galore and really left me so happy. I’d love to have some more recommendations that will have me walking away feeling giddy.

  1. Yes! Sometimes I just need something that doesn’t reach too deep or gut check me. I’ve got Good Boy on my reading list for this year and I do want Brooklynaire.

  2. I am still in a slump, I abandoned three books last week. I really want to read the dog book and the last one, they sound delightful. Thanks so much for sharing these! I am going to add them to my library list.

  3. So timely to see Good Boy here! I picked it yesterday to start reading, then realized I had an ARC I needed to get to first. But it’s next in line. I swear, Bowen and Kennedy together are just writing GOLD. 🙂 I can’t wait to read more about Blake. He was such a standout in Us.

  4. Sometimes books like these are exactly what we need, right? I love Sarina Bowen so I’m happy to see her on your list. And Sarah Ney is on my tbr. I’ll have to get to that one soon! 🙂
